ORGANIZED: Surveyed in 1867, Anna was incorporated as a village in 1877.

ORGANIZED: Surveyed in 1858, Botkins was incorporated as a village in 1881.

Village of Ft. Loramie

LOCATION: 16 miles west of Sidney, 3 miles south of Auglaize County line along Ohio 66.

ORGANIZED: Surveyed in 1837, Fort Loramie was originally named the town of Berlin by German settlers. It was changed in honor of early settler Peter Loramie.

POPULATION: 1,042 (1990 Census).

Village of Kettlersville

LOCATION: Northwestern Shelby County along Ohio 274, about 15 miles northwest of Sidney.

ORGANIZED: The land encompassing Kettlersville was purchased by settler William Kettler (its namesake) and others in 1865. Lots were platted in 1873.

POPULATION: 194 (1990 Census).

ORGANIZED: Government was established in Russia in 1968, but the area has been settled since the 1830s.

POPULATION: 442 (1990 Census).

LOCATION: Southwestern Auglaize County on Ohio 66 at Ohio 119, one mile north of the Shelby County line.

ORGANIZED: Originally called Stallostown, the village was settled in 1832 by a group organized by Joseph Stallo. The town was organized the next year and renamed a few years later.

POPULATION: 2650 (1990 Census); 2932 (1994 estimate).

Village of New Knoxville

LOCATION: Southwestern Auglaize County on Ohio 29 at Ohio 219, about 5 miles southeast of St. Marys.

ORGANIZED: Settlements date to 1831, but most early settlers arrived after Indians left the area in 1832. Originally named Knoxville for founder James Knox Lytle, the village was platted in 1836.

POPULATION: 838 (1990 Census); 949 (1994 estimate).

Village of New Bremen
Village of New Bremen Website

LOCATION: Southwestern Auglaize County on Ohio 66 at Ohio 274, about 8 miles south of St. Marys.

ORGANIZED: The first settlement at Bremen (named for a German city) was in 1833. The area was platted the same year and renamed New Bremen in 1835 by the U.S. Postal Service.

POPULATION: 2558 (1990 Census); 2868 (1994 estimate).
